in sepsis there is negative nitrogen balance, means excretion of nitrogen is more than uptake so, requirement of nitrogen should increase.
moreover in sepsis there is fever

Question:
During sepsis what does not occur:
Options:
A) Increase in oxygen requirement
B) Increase in nitrogen requirement
C) Gluconeogenesis
D) Increase in body temperature
Solution:
Sepsis and surgery cause a negative nitrogen balance. Hence the breakdown/excretion exceeds the uptake. After uncomplicated surgery negative nitrogen balance persists for 5-7 days. However, in sepsis this trend continues for weeks together.
